Google announced over on their blog that they have now added their instant auto-complete feature to Google Places. Now when you are making a search in Google Places, including on mobile devices, Google will attempt to guess at what you might be looking for with instant results.
This feature is live now. To check it out just make any search on Google, then from the left menu select “Google Places” to make a Google Places search and see what kind of results are suggested for your region.
On their blog Google implied that they eventually want instant to be available through all Google searches:
As part of our ongoing effort to give you the Instant experience everywhere on Google, this week we’ve enabled Instant in Places View so you can find where you want to go even more quickly.
